Few months ago, I started to include activia yogurt instead of my daily morning skim milk. Milk was causing me bloating and some abdominal pain. I tried to have the soya milk but I didn’t stick to it.

I am having my plain activia yogurt twice a day, in the morning and before sleeping, and I really feel good!

A lot of my clients ask me if the intestinal comfort out of this yogurt is for real or is it just a marketing issue.

This yogurt has become a brave new trend in all diets, televisions are  advertising it in a great way, which pushed everyone to consume it.

Some people felt the difference while others did not and these are the people who don’t usually have intestinal problems.

Activia has unique probiotic and prebiotic, ” beneficial bacteria,” which, if carried in the intestinal tract in significant amounts, are thought to ease some digestive concerns.

All yogurt are rich in these microorganisms, but Activia has a special one named Bifidus Actiregularis, which offer more than double the protection.

This specific “friendly bacteria” is the reason why people are feeling this intestinal comfort, when it comes to constipation or  diarrhea , for both men and women at all ages.  It also plays a big role in offering a higher immune system.

Bifidus actiregularis and other active bacteria  may improve lactose intolerance. The bacterial strain commonly used in yogurt can produce lactase enzymes, so people suffering from Lactose intolerance can consume Activia.

Activia is not fat-free and has 112 calories in 180 ml. It is also an excellent source of calcium and Vitamin D, essential for growth and bone health.

Strawberry  fruit yogurts are also present in the market, for people who can’t tolerate the plain yogurt taste, and are higher in calories (140 calories per pot).

Personally, I think Activia is a reasonably healthy yogurt with added live cultures.

It is well marketed and it is worth it! 😀
