As I mentioned before in my older posts, I am a very healthy person during the week days and I like to stick to my routine. I mean routine in all sense. Eating habits, timing of food, work plan, everything has to be planned and well done. (Maybe this seems so wrong for you, I just got used to it!).
Two days ago, I had a meeting outside the office, I thought it will be an affair of an hour max, so I can go home later on to rest and have lunch, then back to the office.
But, people were insisting on me, I had to go with them for lunch.
They picked a Lebanese restaurant, and you know the Lebanese food variety! And the amount of olive oil it contains.
I wasn’t hungry a lot, but I ate, can’t resist the good food
The most important thing is the food choices, I knew in advance what to chose, so it was fine for me to break the routine once in a while (I usually prepare healthy and light food at home)
Here are the food items that I ate:
- Vine leaves in olive oil: I took 2 pieces
- Eggplant moutabbal with olive oil: I took 3 tablespoons
- Fattouche without the bread: I took 4 tablespoons
- Shish taouk: I took 5 pieces
- 1 diet coke
- No bread!
In average my lunch was about 450 calories. NOT BAD

is HUMOOS a healthy food??
Can you recommend the most healthy arabic food.
Mainly lebanse cuisine is healthy. Eating healthy is different than eating low calorie foods.
hummos is healthy, it is counted as carbohydrates, so don't it eat it w a lot of bread.
Fattouche, tabboule, moutabbal, hummos, vine leaves, shish taouk, beef kafta ( not veal) All these are healthy food choices.
Don't eat a lot of meat or chicken liver, it has a lot of fat and cholesterol.

How you doing today? Mira I am very fond of having Hazelnut hot chocholate from starbucks and when i go out I am always in two minds to have it or not but then I end up having it and then feel very guilty about it. Could you let me know the calorie count in it.

Hazelnut chocolate is not that high in calories if you order it with skim milk, and you order the tall portion.
So this one, has around 150 calories, so if you feel you want to take it everyday, it is fine or you can have it once every 2 days:)

i just finished reading your post, and to tell you the truth i loved it it gives a great insight and helps people to be educated in their day to day life on their food selections and i think that what people need, to sink in a healthy way of life and not to take for granted every portion they eat in excess of what do they really need, and we all know that their is nothing is for free in this life especially the fat that builds up and could be life threatening,
