Use the following tips when you want to eat out and make healthy choices:
- Ask for your sauces to be served on the side
- Order the foods that are grilled, roasted or boiled, anything will be better than fried
- Choose tomato sauces for your pasta, instead of white sauces
- Order light salad dressings like lemon mustard or vinaigrette
- Order a salad and an appetizer or directly an entree, but don't go for the whole thing
- Substitute the french fries by a baked potato with cheese on the top, yummy!!
- Limit bread and crackers in the basket while you are waiting for your meal, so use the fork and knife to eat
- If you are a fan of soft drinks, chose diet ones.
- Drink 2 glasses of water before you start eating
- Share a desert with your friend, or order sorbets, fruit salads, custard or anything soft pudding
- Want to see a movie, entertain yourself with a small popcorn bag. Popcorn is a very healthy snack rich in fiber, eat it instead of nachos and potato chips.
